City Hostel Pest - Budapest

Good location, clean rooms.

Very hot rooms. No ac or anything else. There is something rather strange about the shared rooms: we shared a toilet with another room and there was no way you could prevent the others to enter the bathroom while we were inside...

Cheap, good location, friendly staff and very clean!! Best value for money!!

we were in tht 6th floor, therefore it was very quiet. we had a fridge. luggage room available. 24h reception.

there were red ants in our bed. The bathroom floor was really dirty. It was too expensive for its location (either you had to walk for a bit or you had to take the metro to get into the center). the sheets smelled weird. the whole house seemed to be old and not clean. the street where it is located is very touristy with the same type of bars - no personality. not the real budapest!

Clean and comfortable rooms (though they are connected with bathroom - it wasn't bad for us as we had 2 rooms as a group but it may be a problem when you do not know your 'neighbour' from the other room). The staff was very helpful and polite, spoke good English. There are common computers to use with good and fast internet, so taking your own laptop is not necessary if you don't mind waiting for your turn in a line :) Location of the Hostel is wonderful - it is located on Raday Utca which is decsribed as Budapest's most famous restaurants street. There are a lot of good and cheap pubs and bars as well as expensive but amazing restaurants.

We didn't like the fact that most of hostel's guest did not wash their dishes (there were 2 kitchens one on 2nd and one on 4th floor) so it was awkward to use but it's not the hostel but the mentality of people' fault.

Great location on a busy street full of restaurants and bars about 10 minutes walk from the centre of Budapest. Helpful staff, free internet, plenty of services available and an extremely reasonable nightly rate. Room was large and generally comfortable with a fridge and plenty of storage space.

Good security , no one accept guests get inside. Although a bit nousy in the night, as many youngsters are staying there.

The room was nice, the hostel is in a nice location, there's free internet, friendly staff, and it's great value.

1. location was in a slightly dodgy area but was very close to tourist areas 2. had few issues with shared bathroom but this more has to do with luck of who you are sharing with

very good price, very large room. The staff can also help print on-line booked tickets, which is really helpful. The street which it stands is a good place with a lot of cafes and restarants. It is actually the famous university of Budapest.

Classical university college.Good place in the center, Raday utca is full of restaurants, in front of the college is cheap bistro. People at the reception are very helpfull( young people who know English and know the City). For this money Excellent place.

Little bit noisy neighbors, but it´s not issue of hostel, the can´t handle this. I reserved room with double bet and got room with 3 beds, but I didn´t care about it. Even Didn´t told them it.

Its a hostel to forget. I had a reservation for another hostel in the cuty, but they said it was full, so they move us to another from the same group.

The hostel was dirty and the staff was rude

The location was great! Hostel was decent for the low price. Staff was helpful.

People would gather right outside the hostel entrance to talk, drink, use Wifi and smoke. It was so hot the windows of the room needed to be open at night. I mentioned the noise level to the front desk after the first night and asked if it as possible to move to the back side of the hostel, but they had no open connecting rooms (we had 2 rooms with a bathroom connecting them). The second night finally at 2:30 am I yelled down and asked the people outside to keep it down. That lasted about 20 minutes. Noise levels varied each night from midnight to 4am. So if your a light sleeper bring earplugs. It would have been nice to know there were no towels and I would have packed a few for the family instead of having to rent them for 2 euro's a day plus deposit.

The view from our room was wonderful, the building was lovely and the location was very good. After a week of camping in Serbia it was just the budget luxury we needed!

We had to walk up 6 flights of stairs to our room though that wasn't too bad as the view was wonderful
